Lou George
Attorney and founding partner of Hassett & George, P.C.

Louis George, a founding partner of Hassett & George, P.C., has a comprehensive legal practice which allows him to counsel his clients on a wide range of issues.  His legal versatility has taken him from administrative hearings to the Supreme Court.  Lou has represented many business owners and self-insured corporations. For the last 15 years, he has devoted his practice to serving businesses, entrepreneurs, and real estate developers.  His litigation background aids in his counseling of clients on residential and commercial transactions. Lou leads a team of land use planning and zoning approval personnel and has successfully stewarded projects from their formative stages through to completion.

His litigation experience extends from the defense of more common personal injury cases to the defense of malpractice, errors and omissions claims, wrongful death, sophisticated product liability, E-commerce, technology-related matters, lead paint poisoning, and medical device litigation.  Lou has represented Fortune 500 companies in the defense of asbestos related claims, product defects, and breast implant litigation, and he was one of the first attorneys in Connecticut to appear on behalf of breast implant manufacturers. He also was actively involved in the first class action indoor air quality (“Sick Building Syndrome”) litigation in the state of Connecticut.

Lou is active in the Greater Hartford community. He is President of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce and the former Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee for the Simsbury Chamber. He is President of the Simsbury Regional Bar Association.
